Mrs. Herbert Hoover,
Please don't throw this in the waste paper basket, but Please read it for my sake. I'm a poor girl trying to make my way in school by the help of a Poor Aunt with whom I stay. Will you be so kind to give me a few of your old clothes, as I sew well & could make them over, and be dressed nice like the most of my Friends. I have seen your sweet photo in the papers & magazines, & I really believe you have as sweet a disposition as your face expression. Thanking you in advance for your kindness as I could not afford to worry you with another letter. I am Respectfully,
Florence Williams Box 451
